After spending a few hours at the mall with Keren yesterday Maddy decided she wanted to see the Easter Bunny. So we loaded the girls up and Matt and I took them to see the Easter Bunny. How parents keep their kids occupied in those lines is beyond me. Camryn was playing with rocks and trying to eat mulch.
Then it was our turn. Camryn started screaming and Maddy wouldn't step foot near her beloved bunny. So I got to join in. Afterwards we hightailed it out of there.
We are ending our night with a nice bath for the girls when mid bath we have to do an evacuation. Thanks to Cams we had some floating poo to tend to....

Say Cheese
I just talked to Johns Hopkins and after 3 months of consuming 1/4 cup of baked milk a day they gave Maddy the ok to move to baked cheese!!!
We are very excited but hesitant at the same time.
This will be difficult for us for a few reasons. #1 Matt and I have been eating a Paleo based diet (no grains, dairy, sugars, or legumes). I've done a lot of reading and research and we feel great and for the most part are enjoying it. It's worked well since we don't consume much dairy (with the exception of Camryn) in our house anyways. But now I'm supposed to be making these baked cheese items and not eating them...that will be hard! and #2 I haven't baked with cheese or milk products in quite some time, I don't even know where to begin, and how to not be wasteful, trying to find things I can make in little mini portions.
We have to go about it in the following way: Make something with baked cheese (lasagna, ziti, pizza) and take what we would consider a portion for Maddy and split that in to fourths. Give Maddy 1/4 a serving for 2 days, then 1/2 serving for 2 days, and then 3/4 serving for 2 days. Once she is tolerating full servings she can have unlimited amounts of baked cheese. No need to count her baked milk anymore, she can consume what she wants in baked milk but I don't have to give her a set amount each day. Once she has baked cheese several times a week for a month she can progress to stove top cooked cheese and baked (dairy based) pies. Store bought items must still have milk in the bottom half of the ingredients.
Phew...that seems like a lot to monitor and think about, and although there's so much that's allowed now there's still so much you have to worry about. I wonder if she'll even like the taste of cheese? She doesn't like cheddar goldfish...who doesn't like cheddar goldfish!?
I think we'll start this weekend...maybe.

Easter Eggs
Last night we dyed Easter Eggs. I gave Camryn 1 hard boiled egg to play with. She slammed it on the table, ripped it open, and fed it to Cash, and had a ball doing it.
Matt and Maddy had fun dying the eggs. I think Maddy will have green hands for days.
After the Easter Egg dying I chased Camryn around the house, up and down the stairs 100938884 times.
Maddy gave me a check up. We get daily check-ups around our house. Once done with my check up I told Maddy we needed to clean up the play room, she told me she couldn't because cleaning made her belly hurt.
Then we played hide and seek with our new favorite toy, a large box!
She found me!!

Sunday Funday and Spring Snow
Sunday morning we played in the playroom for a bit. Maddly played with her tools and legos.
This is Camryn rubbing Maddy's head. She does this often, it's very cute.
And hugging her big sis.
Camryn drawing..
Then my dad came over for a few hours. We played hide and seek outside while Camryn napped. Dad brought the girls beautiful engraved bracelets and jewelry boxes. These girls are spoiled!! After dad left our neighbor came over to play with Maddy for a few hours. I think the girls will be beat today.
Then we woke up this morning to a winter wonderland...a few days in to spring.

Saturday in Middletown
This past Saturday we spent up in Middletown. Matt and I had a 5k race and the girls went to the Easter Egg Hunt at the church.
Matt finished 8th in the race! I beat my previous 5K time by about 9 minutes. So we had a good morning! We then met up with the girls at the church. Camryn was walking the halls with Aunt Bren and/or Mimi and Maddy was doing the game where you walk with the easter egg on a spoon.
Then it was time for the Easter Egg Hunt! Maddy and Ryan had a good time finding eggs and Camryn even got 2! Aunt Bren and Maddy had fun together :)
Then we had lunch at Mimis to celebrate Aunt Bren birthday.
Look at Camryn and Ryan being goofy!
We headed home after lunch and spent some time playing outside
Camryn was tired from our busy morning, so in the middle of playing she just laid down in the yard.....
So did Maddy...
Maddy picked the few daffodils that started to bloom
And chased her sister with a stick
Camry used both the bats as walking sticks
A very fun and exhausting Saturday!

Camryn - 0 Coffee Table - 1
The other night Camryn banged her head pretty bad on the Coffee table. Then at dinner she thought it would be fun to put waffles on her head! At least even with a black eye she still has her sense of humor.
I've also added a pic of the girls riding the Gator together. I can't get over how cute it is to see them doing more and more together. They were also in the playroom playing with Camryn's new birthday present, thanks Riley and Emma!
Last night we were outside and Matt was swinging with the girls. It was all fun and games until Maddy ran across a spider and freaked out, screamed, cried, and had to be held and wanted to go inside.
And....big news....Camryn slept all night last night! (and it wasn't due to the head injury, I got up with her Tuesday night to make sure she was ok after that).

Playing Catch
Maddy loves playing catch with her soccer ball. If you watch this video you can see when it first starts that Camryn was in the line of fire. Poor thing got hit in the face, fell down, and got right back up! Maddy did such a great job catching and was having so much fun. I think between Matt and I we did this for a few hours last night (sure beats watching Max and Ruby).
Most of the time the things out of Madelyn's mouth just crack me up. I should be better about remebering what she says. A few things come to mind recently and I don't want to forget them.
1. When moms car was hit Maddy was very distraught, about how mom would get home and how she was NOT allowed to use mommys or daddys car (meany). She said "it's ok mommy, daddy will fix gammys car because he's a gooood boy".
2. Last night in the bath Camryn crawled up to Maddy and gave her a big bear hug. Maddy hugged her back and said "aww my children". The other day she told me "mommy, I'm not a good sister because I don't teach sister anything!". I responded by telling her all the things she'll teach her sister. After her bear hug last night she then went on to say "I'm going to teach sister how to swim, talk, walk, drive, dance...." it was so cute!
3. Every night I go take Maddy up and brush her teeth, potty, then read books. We turn off the lights and after a minute she tells me to "go shower, put on my pajamas, lay down, annnnndddd get daddy!". So I leave and as I'm leaving she asks for a BIG hug, tells me I'm her best friend, and then asks me if I'll share my pillow (the one on her bed that I lay on) with daddy. I respond with "sure" and she thanks me. She's so silly.

Making Progress
I haven't posted about my lack of sleep lately. Don't get too excited, it's not because it's not an issue anymore, I just got tired of talking about how tired I was.
BUT....we're making progress!!
I kept saying 1 year was the cut off. You can push me around until you're 1 but then you're gonna have to cry it out. Well Camryn turned 1 a few weeks ago, and being the baby and all, has still continued to wake once and sometimes twice a night, and I've continued to go in there. I was talking to Keren yesterday and she suggested I just go in and tell Camryn to go back to sleep when she wakes up...umm ok, like it's that easy. So last night Camryn started fussing, after about 20 min. I sent Matt in there, he patted her back for a minute and told her to sleep, would you believe it, she laid down and went to sleep!! So she didn't actually sleep all night, but it as the 2nd or 3rd night since she's born that I didn't have to go in her room. That's progress if you ask me!

Bad drivers and Good friends
We had one busy weekend. I consider our weekend to have started Thursday night because Friday was our day off. So Thursday night mom came over to watch the girls so Matt and I could go workout together. When we got home Maddy didn't want Gammy to leave. I took Camryn up to bed and while I'm putting her down I hear a loud crash. I ran downstairs and a car leaving our neighborhood had run in to moms car parked in front of our house! Everyone was ok, but moms car took a beating. I can't help but think how lucky we are that we weren't outside or that mom wasn't in her car!
Friday we ran errands, went for a run together, got things done around the house, and then me, Matt, and Anna went out with Whitney.
Maddy making tea.
Anna fell asleep on the ride home Friday night. But in all fairness I could have taken a picture of Matt anytime from about 1am Friday night until 2pm Saturday afternoon and he would have looked like this. I was just too busy with the girls to get any pics of him.
Saturday we went to watch Keren's niece Dayana's dance competition. Maddy loved it!!
Camryn was very ansy at the dance competition and wouldn't sit still. Matt and I took turns walking around the halls with her. She liked the lockers.
Sunday we had friends over for lunch and a play date. Watching all the girls play together is just so cute. They were all taking care of their baby dolls, giving everyone check ups, and playing hide a seek. I love seeing them all play together and they're just hilarious!
Maddy let me french braid her hair!!
2 doctors, 1 patient
Sunday afternoon we went to dinner with Dad for his birthday. Given the long and tiring weekend we had I was so pleasantly surprised by how well the girls behaved. We had a great dinner and headed home for baths and bedtime!
Look at Callie using the girls chair to get a better look outside. Maybe she's making sure no one hits our cars!
