Now I'm 30

So yesterday was the day.  I finally turned 30.  I'm acting like a baby, sad that I'm not still in my 20's, but I really can't complain.  I had an amazing birthday.  I have a wonderful husband, 2 amazing children, a beautiful house, friends and family who love me, and a great job, oh yeah and 2 dogs that I love dearly...but are a big pain in the you know what.

Here is a video of Maddy singing Happy Birthday to me.

Yesterday Keren and Dayana brought me a fruit tart for my birthday, I think I ate 3/4 of it while I was working from home yesterday!  The girls gave me a coupon book.  My favorite coupon is "Cry Free Night".  Matt wanted to make sure I knew that was a coupon from the girls, not an "I'll take care of them for the night" coupon...funny honey  :)

I must say though, Camryn has been sleeping well.  Yesterday she slept in until 8:15am.  That is a first, for her entire almost 18 months of life.  When we left for work this morning she was still asleep.  I remember one day Maddy just went from sleeping until 6am to sleeping in until 8am.  Maybe that's happening!

Last night mom brought over sushi and then Matt, the girls, and I all hung out and got Frozen Yogurt.  We love the new place, Zinga, in Oakton.  They have sorbet in their machines (usually 2-3 flavors) so Maddy can have it and pick her toppings, it's delicious and so much fun for us to do.

Camryn practiced pushing 2 strollers, it was so cute.

Maddy assembled her army.  Pretty intimidating, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, a turtle, a smiling seal, a little blonde girl, a Little People from Noah's Ark, and a zebra.

The other day when we went for a walk Camryn insisted on walking right next to Cash with her arm on him.  It was adorable.

After Party

Sunday we had an after party haha.  Steph, John, and the girls came over, our girls got home from the lake, and we all hung out for the day and tried to make a dent in ALL the leftovers we had from the party.  I think we'll be eating BBQ for a month!

Matt blew up balloons for the girls and made sno cones in the margarita machine :)

Yesterday after work Matt and I and the girls got to hang out, go for a walk, play out on the porch.

It's so great having Matt back.  The porch and deck are done.  We passed final inspection today!!!

Now we get ready for our beach trip...we're going to the beach again...yay!!!!!!

29

This past weekend we celebrated my last few days in my 20's...or we celebrated my turning 30, however you want to look at it :)

The girls went to the Lake with mom, Anna, and Zach.  Here they are early Saturday morning waiting for Aunt Anna to come pick them up.

The girls had a great time at the Lake.  Apparently Camryn and Maddy were all over Aunt Anna.  She had to eat with them on her lap.  I think it's funny...she went home and took a nap Sunday, haha.

I don't think Maddy was happy they took her out of the lake to take a picture.  That girl loves the lake, she swims all day long!

Maddy's white tutu even made the trip to the lake.

While the girls were at the lake I spent the day with Whitney.  We went to lunch, my choice (sushi, yum!!), went for a run, to the pool, and then for pedicures.  It was an awesome day!

When I got home the house was so nicely decorated.  Matt and Aunt Lisa did an amazing job.  There were baby pictures of me all around the deck and house.  They had an awesome poster made for me.  The food and frozen margarita machine were amazing and a huge hit.  I couldn't have had a better birthday.  I was surrounded by all the people I love the most (well of course with the exception of my girls, siblings, and mom, but it made me so happy that the girls were having a great time as well!!).  Thanks to everyone who came to my party and those that helped out.  I truly am blessed.

That cake was amazing!!

Party Prep

So we (I say we, but really mean Matt) finished the porch this week.  As of 5:30 pm on Wednesday the porch and deck are DONE!!!  Just in time for my birthday party Saturday.  When my husband gives himself deadlines, he meets them.  We are so glad this project is over!  Now it's time to enjoy all the hard work.

This week was exciting.  One of my most favorite couples in the whole world, Pam and Mark, welcomed their first child, Kirra, into the world.  She was born late on Monday, August 19th.  I am so happy for them and she is a gorgeous little girl.  I can't wait to meet her.  Matt and I will have to make a quick trip down to Wilmington in the near future.

So I am one lucky girl.  Matt has been working so hard to get ready for the big party on Saturday.  He has some secrets up his sleeve as well.  The girls are excited to go to the Lake for the weekend with Gammy, Aunt Anna, and Uncle Zach.  We "helped" daddy with party prep by doing a quick little makeover of the front.  We mulched, put some planters on the front porch, and filled some pots with some bright pretty mums (and played with water guns).

Maddy starts preschool in 2 weeks (she'll actually miss her 1st day because we're squeezing in one last beach trip the week of Labor day, whooo hooo)!  I can't believe my baby will be in preschool.  Just 2 full days a week but still, wow time flies.  So to get ready for school Maddy and I went to visit on Wednesday.  She sat in her class for story time and had a snack as well.  She seemed ok but I was right there with her.  So next week we'll try again, and maybe she'll let me slip away for a few minutes.  We'll see how that goes.  Wednesday night there was pizza and a magic show at the school.

The school also has animals...chickens, roosters, sheep, ponies, etc.  Camryn wasn't into the magic, but loved the animals.

Last night we played in the playroom for a little bit and then all went to get frozen yogurt.  I'm so excited the place near our house has sorbet in their machines so Maddy can get some "ice cream" and put on her toppings and it's dairy free, so great, we love it!

Camryn putting on high heels (she must get that from her sister).

Blurry, but Maddy about to throw the ball to/at me.

Camryn sleeps through the night probably more often than not, but when she doesn't it's horrible, like up for hours every few hours which means no sleep for anyone else.  When she does sleep through the night she goes to sleep between 8 and 9pm, she powers through her tiredness, and wakes anywhere between 3:30 and 5am...seriously.  She fell asleep holding my hand through her crib the other night though and it's just so cute!  She also loves giving kisses now, I'll take all the kisses she offers up!

Summer Fun

Let's see, what were we up to last week?  Matt was frantically working on the porch, trying so hard to finish it before my birthday party this coming Saturday.

We had a dinner picnic at the park with Steph, Riley, and Emma

Then we went to Fairfax Corner for their Little Tots performance, this week it was a magician.  Anna went with us and then Steph and the girls met us.

Friday the girls and I went over to Anna's and had a cookout with Mom and Anna.  Then we went to Reston  Town Center.  The girls love throwing coins in the fountain.

Our porch is almost done!  We hung out in it this weekend even though the screens aren't all up yet.  It's SOOO nice.  Matt's hard work paid off and we are so thankful for dads help as well!!

Camryn loves Cash!!!

Yesterday we had a play "date" with a little boy Maddy met at the park.  So I had to get a picture before her first date haha.  They are so cute playing together, they get along great and he has a sister Camryn's age.  We had a great time on our play date.
