Happy as a Rooster

At one point this weekend Maddy told me she was "Happy as a rooster".  I'm assuming she heard that somewhere but either way I thought it was so adorable and never want to forget it :)  I'd say we had a pretty great weekend, like a bunch of happy roosters.

We had a few nice days last week so we spent them outside, riding bikes, playing with chalk, taking the dogs for a walk, and going to the park.

This is what I get when I ask her to smile...

Maddy wanted me to hold her like a baby

The girls helped daddy wash the truck.

Friday night we went to some friends house for pizza and Frozen.  The kids just love that movie so it allowed the grown ups to actually get to hang out and relax while they were in awe of Frozen for the 15th time.

Camryn was in charge of the wine (right before we took this picture Camryn jumped off the couch right into the coffee table and got a nice big knot on the back of her head...she doesn't look phased here though...she's one tough girl).

Saturday morning Camryn and I went grocery shopping while Matt and Maddy went to do a few things up at the school.  Camryn took her new purse (thanks to Whit) to the grocery store with her.  Its a glittery dog purse and she carried it around and dragged it on the ground barking, like it was walking.  She was awesome and cute as ever.  She was a great helper at the store.  From what I hear Maddy was an awesome helper as well.  Helping Matt repair the fence at the school.

After that mom came over to watch the girls while Matt and I went for a run, it was a great run followed by some relaxing on the screened in porch.

Saturday night we had dinner for AB's birthday.  We arrived a bit early and walked around since it was so nice out.

As usual it was awesome to get to see everyone and we all had a great time and some delicious food.  Everyone was more interested in hanging out and eating than taking pictures....

And this picture is just funny because it's so typical.  The girls standing up looking in to the kitchen and messing around while I ignore them and try to eat my food haha.

And the birthday girl was able to detach Camryn from my hip and get a cute photo

And AB with all the kids, Maddy decided to turn on the attitude around this time and refuse to sit or smile.

Mom ordered the girls Frozen and it arrived Saturday so the girls woke up to a nice suprise Sunday morning.  They actually watched Frozen 2.5 times yesterday...bad mommy and daddy.  It was pretty funny though that all of us walked around humming "Let it go" and "do you want to build a snowman" ALL day yesterday.

I'm pretty sure that is what Maddy was singing here...

And Camryn was making smoothies

Maddy had a birthday party for a classmate yesterday and when we got home I kept telling her to come inside and she said "I'm engaged to someone else" and ran into the front yard.  Matt and I were cracking up and confused until we recognized that it was a line from Frozen...the things they pick up on haha.

And if you've made it this far into this post you can check out these videos from Camryn the other night.  I was putting her to bed and she was jumping up and down saying "oo oo ee ee" like a monkey.  Of course I pull out my phone to record and she wants to say cheese and look at herself.  You can see the videos here and here.

Birthdays, warm days, and snow days

Before I get in to our week I have a funny story I forgot to tell.  As we were leaving Middletown last weekend we were driving by a farm.  Maddy wanted to stop and pet the cows and of course I had to chime in that they stunk...I'm sorry but it really did stink...and Maddy followed up by saying "mommy they don't stink, they smell delicious, I could eat a million of them cows".  It was hilarious and I do agree with her...beef is delicious.

As we wrapped up Camryn's birthday celebrations last week we entered another fun filled birthday week.  Gammy's birthday was last Monday so we met up with Gammy, Aunt Anna, and Uncle Zach for a sushi dinner.  Maddy loves using chopsticks and trying the food.

While Camryn sat there asking me for pizza every 5 minutes.  I do have to give her credit though, she was very good at dinner despite not wanting to eat anything they had to serve....not even the ice cream!

One of our new favorite routines is for the girls to make popcorn on the stove with daddy and then we all watch cartoons in our bed before putting the girls to bed at night.  It's a lot of fun, especially since the girls are in to watching Looney Tunes and who doesn't love Looney Tunes?!

Our weather has been so wonky (if wonky isn't a word it should be).  One day it's beautiful and we're playing outside and the next day we have record breaking snow.

Both girls have started to help around the house...occasionally.  They like to help me change the sheets, do dishes, take laundry to the laundry room, put groceries away, etc.

Maddy helps Matt a lot as well.  Dad cut their playroom door in half for us so we have the ability to keep the dogs out of the playroom while also being able to hear the kids when they're in there and Maddy helped add a hinge and paint the new door.

Friday was PopPop's birthday so Matt and I headed out to dads to celebrate at a bar/restaurant and mom stayed home and watch the girls.  We had a really fun night out!

And the girls had fun playing with Gammy

Matt had some work to do up at the preschool on Saturday and the weather was gorgeous so mom and I took the girls up to the school to play and then met up with Whitney for a little shopping and lunch.

Sunday was colder and with it brought record breaking amounts of snow for this late in March on Monday morning.  We wrapped up our weekend just hanging out, the girls found some entertainment in wrestling with Matt and at the end of the day Cash curled up in bed with Maddy.

Cams Birthday Week Comes To An End

Well little Miss Camryn had a great birthday WEEK!  I think we've celebrated her birthday at least 4 times this week.  She's a lucky girl with lots of people who love her.

When we got home from work on her birthday the girls were downstairs playing with Camryn's new microphone.  It was a hit...minus all the fighting over who got to sing.  This video of Cams singing is so cute.

Mom came over Thursday with pizza, cupcakes, presents, and balloons.  We had a great afternoon.  Camryn loved playing with her balloon so much we had a hard time getting her to open her presents haha.

Gammy even brought Maddy a little something

That night Camryn put gloves on her feet and went to bed like that.  It was hilarious watching her walk around with gloves on her feet.

Friday night we had some friends over and the kids all played in the moon bounce then watched some cartoons to cool off and unwind.

Saturday we headed to Middletown.  Camryn insisted on wearing her princess night gown, 1 of Maddy's rain boots and 1 sparkly red shoe that is 2 sizes too big for her.

When we got to Mimi's the girls made Cat in the Hat treats in honor of Dr. Suess's birthday.

Mimi put together a great little party for Camryn, complete with party hats and all!

We all had lunch together followed by cupcakes!

Then Camryn got to open presents.

I think she liked her gifts :)

The kids wrapped up their afternoon by wrestling with Uncle Chris

The weather was so nice this weekend we were able to spend some time outside on Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday Dad, Tammy, Christian, Chesney, Anna, and Zach all came over to celebrate.  Dad made Camryn an amazing doll house for her birthday.  I don't even know if Maddy let Camryn play with it much, haha, needless to say it's a huge hit.

We all had lunch followed by more cupcakes ha.  Here is a little video, we have the voice of angels don't you think?!

Aunt Anna even brought Maddy a new Cinderella doll which she slept with and then took to school today.

We spent the afternoon hanging out, playing outside, and even watching Frozen on Zach's computer.

Even the dogs got some lovin'

As Camryn's birthday week comes to an end a new birthday week starts.  Today is Gammy's birthday and Friday is PopPops!  March is a very special month :)
