Pumpkins and Parties

The girls were anxious to carve pumpkins but we didn't want them to get all mushy so the other day we let them color on them with markers.  Cams decided to give herself a gray little mustache much like the infamous Hitler.

Then Maddy gave herself a pink Santa beard.

We had a busy weekend.  Saturday we headed to St. Mary's City, MD to celebrate Matt's PopPop's 80th birthday.  Cams and Maddy looked happy to be going!

While we were there Camryn refused to eat, except for the cupcake...

Sunday we celebrated one of Maddy's friends 4th birthday.  The first of all the girls to turn 4!!  The party was at Pump It Up.  Camryn wasn't tall enough to participate so she got to stay home and play with Gammy.

Sunday afternoon dad and Tammy came over to watch the Redskins lose.

And Maddy's tutu was too big so she decided to wear it as a necklace.

Last night we carved our pumpkins.

Field Trip and Date Night

Maddy has had quite a week this week!  She went to school on Monday and then joined her class for a field trip to the pumpkin patch on Tuesday.  Another day to spend with her BFF Sydney.

Keren was sick Wednesday and Thursday this week so Wed. morning I took Maddy to school and played with Camryn for the day.  We ran errands and hung out, she was so great.  Look at her wearing Maddy's glittery red shoes that are 4 sizes too big for her!

Camryn loves to do what her sister does, from wearing her shoes to dressing up.  She hasn't mastered dress up yet, but she's getting there.

Thursday Matt stayed with the girls and they visited me at work, I love when they come visit me at work!!  Thursday night Maddy and Matt had a date night.  Matt took her to Disney on Ice and she had a blast.

While they went to Disney on Ice Camryn and I got ice cream sundaes (something we don't do very often because of Maddy's allergy).  Camryn was happy as could be.

The ice cream must have hit the spot because afterwards she climbed under the covers she'd put on her babies and sat on the couch watching Sofia the First.

Speaking of Maddy's allergy, we're now on 3 teaspoons of straight dairy.  You should have seen the look of shock on Maddy's face when I told her she could try her sisters yogurt last night, followed by the look of pure deliciousness when she realized how yummy real yogurt is!

Home stretch and Our little star

I spoke with Hopkins yesterday and they said we could start the final phase of Maddy's milk detolerization.  She's ready for straight milk.  She is to receive 1 tsp of straight milk (yogurt, ice cream, cheese, milk) for 2 days, then 2 tsp for 2 days, etc. until she reaches 4 oz.  We started yesterday with 1 tsp of whole milk mixed in her almond milk.  We haven't told her yet because I think there's a mental side to it all, I don't want her thinking she's having any sort of reaction.  Last night she was in a great mood, no reaction.  If we continue on the path of increasing every other day that puts us at 4 oz. on December 6th at which point Hopkins said we can consider her allergy free!!!!

Both girls were in such great moods last night.  Here is a video of them doing ring around the rosey:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug7DWlE_3_g

Maddy likes to make up songs and preform, here is her latest creation.  American Idol here she comes:

Back to reality

Last Thursday we returned to work and it was an exhausting snap back to reality.  Thursday morning started off with Callie pacing and panting at 3am, followed by Camryn waking at 5am, and then I ran in to Maddy wandering the hall at 5:30am.  We left for work and around 8am I had to leave to take Callie to the vet.  She wasn't doing well and wouldn't eat.  Come to find out she has Pancreatitis and is on meds for the next 3 weeks followed by prescription dog food for the rest of her life.  She seems to be ok now but we have to closely monitor what she eats.

Friday morning Camryn woke at 2:30am...and was still up when Keren arrived at 6am.

Friday night Matt and Maddy went up to MD for a Halloween party and then Maddy got to have a sleep over at her cousins house.  Maddy dressed up as Snow White.

My mom stayed with Camryn Friday night while I went to a jewelry party at Whits.

Saturday morning Camryn and I headed up to Maryland.  Half way there Camryn started screaming and coughing.  Of course after last weeks car sickness I started thinking she was going to get sick and I'd have to find a place to pull over on 270, etc.  So I pulled off to give Cams a break.  We hung out and go some fresh air for about 10 minutes and she was not happy when I put her back in the car.  She screamed for the next 25 minutes.  As soon as we were off the highway I rolled down all the windows which seemed to help.  Ugh, every time she cries or does that "I'm about to puke" cough I hold my breath and hope for the best.  I feel so bad for her!

We had so much fun Saturday.  We went to the South Mountain Creamery Fall Festival.  The girls got to jump on the moon bounce and see all sorts of animals.  Maddy got to pet a calf, and then she cried...Matt said she's "too city"...is there such a thing?!  :)

After that we went to Bryce's football game to see Kiley cheer and Bryce play.  Maddy and Ryan are so cute together, they were giggling and playing on the bleachers.

Yesterday the girls and I ran errands with mom (Maddy finally got the light up shoes that she'd been talking about for the last week - Thanks Gammy).  The girls and I went to the park in the afternoon while Matt watched some football.

During the week Keren gets the girls together with different nannys and kids they've met at the park.  Camryns new BFF is Isla and they just love playing with each other!

Still Home

We are still off work.  I keep thinking this shutdown will come to an end this week, but how sure can you really be?  I'm shocked its lasted this long.

This past weekend we went up to Md Friday for dinner. On the way up poor Camryn got so car sick.  First time since she has been forward facing and it sure makes me think twice before traveling any distance with her.  # 1 I feel horrible for her  #2 cleaning the car and car seat afterwards is not fun.  We ended up having a great time minus the car ride.

Saturday we went to Riley's princess birthday party.  Cinderella and Rapunzel made an appearance and Maddy was in awe!  Her and Camryn were the only ones that danced with Cinderella and the first in line to be officially made a princess.  It was a great party ( good job Steph!! )

Sunday we hung out, played with the neighbors, and made homemade dog treats. Maddy chose to make them in the shape of dog bones, stars, moons, and kitty cats.

We also went to the mall last week with mom and Anna.  Maddys hand placement during her piggy back ride was hilarious.
