Christmas 2013

Wow, what a whirl wind the last week has been!  I don't have all our Christmas pics together yet so this is just a quick post.  I'll do an "official" Christmas post with all our pictures when I get a chance, hopefully later this week.

We've had a rough couple days, all being sick at one point or the other.  We did have a good Christmas though!

Maddy and I made cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve

Then we went to moms house Christmas Eve for dinner.

Here is a video of the girls Christmas morning.  Maddy is so funny, when Matt tries to put her on her bike she protests because she doesn't have her helmet on...safety first.

Santa was good to the girls this year!!

Camryn thought it'd be easier to open if she stood on her gift

Camryn had to stop for a snack break

The girls jumped on their new bounce house from Mimi

Matts family all came over on Christmas and we opened gifts and had dinner

The day after Christmas I started to not feel well followed by Matt getting really sick with a stomach bug.  We were scheduled to have Christmas at dads.  Sorry dad, we weren't the best company, but the girls had a great time!!

We spent Friday trying to recover.  Matt and I were supposed to go out of town Friday and Saturday.  Around 7pm Friday night Matt decided he felt well enough and we headed to Rocky Gap.  We had a nice time, even though we were still feeling sick.

Matt took me to see Frostburg where he went to school.

We saw his freshman dorm

and the house he lived in

We saw this sign at our resort, we found it quite funny

We got home Sunday to two sick girls.  They both have runny noses, bad coughs, and Maddy has had a fever for 2 days now, she is headed to the doctors with daddy in about an hour.

We set Camryns mattress up in her room.  We haven't disassembled her crib yet, which will turn in to her big girl bed, so we're just testing the waters by having the mattress on the floor to see how she does.

Camryn continues to NOT wear clothing

And before bed decided to lay in the floor on top of their giant baby doll...with a headband around her waste like a belt...she's so goofy!

Almost Christmas

It's almost Christmas.  In fact today is Christmas Eve and I can't believe it!!

It feels like just yesterday that it was 5 days until Christmas

Last week Santa came through the neighborhood on the old fire truck.  Given how warm the weather has been we were able to play outside with the neighbors while waiting for Santa to come by.

Last week at school Maddy made us an ornament and we love it!!

The girls also decided their favorite place to curl up with a good book is the doggie bed.  They just happen to be rockin ugly Christmas sweaters this day as well.  Our girls are so cool!

Shelfie also played a joke on the girls the other night by sneaking in to their rooms while they were sleeping....

This past weekend we had a Christmas party to attend at our neighbors house.  The kids had so much fun...as did the adults!!

We've been watching Polar Express, The Grinch, and Rudolph a lot.

We also had to run out to drop Matt's car at dad's shop so we stopped by Atlanta Bread and ran in to "uncle" Joey.  So of course the girls got all the cookies (for breakfast) that they wanted.

Afterwards we ran to the store to get stuff for Christmas dinner at our house.  The girls had fun riding on the cart.

The other night while we were in the basement watching Polar Express Camryn kept running to the table to get pieces of pizza, then running over to the couch to feed Maddy.  Maddy has trained her well so far.

The girls got to open presents from Key yesterday. They got so many cute new clothes!

Camryn loves books (and puzzles) right now.  I think it's funny she chooses to read a book about vegetables..none of which she will currently eat.  In fact she really only eats cream of wheat, oatmeal, yogurt, raisins, and cheez its/goldfish.

Since we had to work today we were lucky enough to have Mimi come down and spend the night so she could watch the girls while we came to work for a few hours today.

Shelfie made his last appearance for the year this morning...hiding in the girls basket of hats and gloves.  Until next year Shelfie.....

2nd Annual Cookie Party

This post has taken me so long to get to because I used our nice camera to take pictures at the party.  I love our camera but it ends up being such a pain to load all the pictures to our laptop and then to the blog, whereas with my phone it's a piece of cake...Well there's my excuse...now on to the pictures!

The days leading up to the party were hectic.  Thanks so much to my mom who helped with the girls so we could get everything ready!!

Maddy helped stack cookie boxes

I don't have many pictures of everyone decorating their cookies but everyone had a blast.  We gave each kid a box with 4 cookies and they went to town with everything from sprinkles to mini marshmallows to gum drops and chocolate chips.

Once everyone was done decorating we went downstairs, the kids ran wild and then we had a special visitor...SANTA!!!

Some kids liked Santa...

Some did not...

And some were indifferent...

We really should know by now but taking pictures of all the kids at the end of the night is NOT the way to get a good picture...but they do usually end up pretty comical.

We had an awesome time at our party and hope everyone else did as well.  We can't wait to do it again next year!
