Birthday wrap-up and Memorial Day

Wow this post took me forever to do!  I've tried doing it all week and it just hasn't happened.

First I'll start with Maddy's birthday interview.  I did an interview with her last year, you can see the video here.

This year I asked her the same questions and was actually quite surprised so many of her answers remained the same.  This years birthday interview can be seen here.

On her birthday Maddy took an ice cream cake (that she helped make) into school and she said all her classmates and teachers really enjoyed it.  I think she had a great day at school and was drained from her long exciting day!
We went out to dinner on Maddy's birthday and had a great time.  It was me, Matt, Maddy, Camryn, Kiley, Aunt Bren, Mimi, Pop Pop Jack, Gammy, Aunt Anna, and Whitney.

Camryn offered to drive us home.

The rest of the week continued as usual.  We played outside.

The girls squirted my feet with water guns...since it was the only part of me I'd let them squirt with that freezing water!

I did something to my back last week so I only got 1 run in but while in the app I noticed I was at exactly 400 miles.  Pretty cool!

Friday Maddy went on a field trip to the Air and Space Museum out near Dulles.

Friday night we took it easy.  Look at the girls just lounging on the couch in matching pj's, they're so darn cute!

Saturday morning we colored our hair (duh).

And then went yard saling and to run errands with Gammy.

We jumped on the moon bounce.

Sunday we had a cookout/pool party to attend.

The girls danced a little.  See the video Here.

Look at Camryn stealing Sydney's beans!

Then Monday our neighbors let us use their pool and it was amazing.  Camryn preferred to sun bathe.

And play with goggles.

And Maddy started to get re-acquainted with the water and eventually was swimming on her own.

We've had a busy, crazy week this week but I'll save that all for next weeks post!  Happy almost Friday!

Happy 4th Birthday Madelyn

Dear Maddy,

Wow.  I don't even know where to begin.  How could you possibly be turning 4 today?  Where has the time gone?  From the second Daddy and I found out we were having a baby you've brought joy to our lives.  You are the most precious, beautiful, sweet, kind little girl.  I feel so blessed and eternally grateful to have you as a daughter.

Every day I spend with you is an immense blessing and I don't think I'll ever be able to explain the love your daddy and I feel for you.  I can only hope that one day you're lucky enough to have children of your own (if that's what you decide you want) and only then will you begin to realize the love we feel for both you and your sister!

You truly are a princess, and that's all you, I think you were born a little princess and you're just rolling with it.  You love unicorns and princesses and all things girly and that's our Maddy and we wouldn't have it any other way! You love to dance and sing and be the center of attention, but only when you're most comfortable.  You are shy and quiet, sensitive and a bit emotional when you're out of your element, but that's all part of what makes you who you are.  You've grown and learned so much this year and we are so very proud of you.

We love everything about you and can't wait to see you continue to grow and learn.  Happy birthday Moo Moo!!!

Love,

Mommy & Daddy

Maddy's 4th Birthday Party

This past weekend was Maddy's 4th birthday party.   In the days leading up to the party the girls went to dinner and Zinga with Gammy and Aunt Anna.

Maddy pointed to places on the map and asked me who lived here or who lived there.  She didn't get why I didn't know anyone in Antarctica.

We did puzzles

Cams and her BFF hung out, in matching shirts.

The morning of Maddy's party her and Matt made french toast.

Maddy posed for a photo before her birthday party.

We got to the party a little early and walked around for a bit.  The party was at Kiln & Co. in Vienna.  Gammy bid on and won a birthday party at Kiln and Co. and it turned out to be a great party!

Pottery painting was followed by pizza and cake!

Emma ate all the cheese off her pizza.

These two just look like trouble.

Trying really hard not to touch the cake.

Here is a video of everyone (mostly my voice ha) singing Maddy happy birthday.

Maddy got all sorts of wonderful gifts from her friends!

After the party Amelia and Molly came over to play outside.

And then Pam and Kirra were in town from NC and stopped by to say hi and play for a bit.  Kirra is SO CUTE!!!

Camryn had a nuttela mustache and no pants...typical day at our house.

I wish they could stay forever (or didn't live in NC)

Maddy reading K a book.

No...she's not 21 (yet) but she does look awfully cute in this pic ha.

Sunday morning Maddy went for a run with me.  She ran 1/2 mile!

After our runs we went to meet Pop Pop and Tammy for Zinga to celebrate Maddy's birthday.

Maddy got a yogurt maker!  We can't wait to make some homemade yogurt.

Maddy also got hair chalk for her birthday from Riley and Emma and is obsessed.

While playing outside we ran into a few ants...
