Mondays with Daddy

Yay...after this post I'm finally caught up with blogging!!!  For a day, and then we'll do something fun and the girls will be incredibly adorable and I'll take more pics and then I'll try and hurry and blog again :)

Have I mentioned how exhausting those 2 little stinkers are?  Maddy is in a really trying phase right now, she whines and doesn't listen and makes you crazy, and then she's so grown up and sweet and you forget it all!  And Camryn...we finally decided she couldn't push us around at bed time and convince us to take 1 hour to put her to bed (yes it took 2.5 years for us (or me) to finally decide it was enough).  So we read a book, go lay down, and after about 5-10 min. I leave her room.  Some nights she surprises us and goes to sleep, while other nights she HAS A FIT.  Yet, 90% of the time, no matter what time she goes to bed or how tired she was the day before, she'll get up around 5am.  I don't know how she does it, she eats like a little bird (she'll go hours and hours and never care about eating) and sleeps less than any other kid I know, and still runs around with more energy than I could ever muster.

So the girls aren't in school on Mondays and Matt and I alternate days off to watch them.  Since it's year-end at work our schedules worked out that Matt had the girls 2 Mondays in a row.  Now the girls aren't going to be satisfied doing laundry and cooking on Monday with me because Daddy has been doing so many fun things with them!

The first Monday he gave them a couple options and, of course, our little princesses chose to go to the mall.  They love playing at the mall.

This past Monday Matt brought the girls to visit me at work because he had to take care of something in the office.  The girls colored and then begged to go see Aunt Lisa (and then ran around her office not so quietly haha).  One of the guards at work stopped me this morning to tell me how adorable the girls are and went on and on about how they are the cutest sisters she's ever seen and how Camryn's big eyes are just so adorable and on and on...it's nice to hear that as you drag yourself in to work at 5:30am still half asleep!

Afterwards they went to Frying Pan Park.

Camryn loves taking pictures with my phone and if I take it away from her she screams at me and yells for her phone back... Anyways last night she was taking pictures of Matt and Maddy snuggling and watching tv :)  Our girls really do have the best daddy in the whole wide world!

Speaking of how awesome their daddy is, he went on Maddy's field trip today!  Maddy told me the other night that when her friend Sydney's dad goes on field trips it makes her sad that her daddy isn't there....well that's all Matt needed to hear!!  He chaperoned her first class field trip of the year to a park in Vienna.

These 3 are best buds...3 little princesses.

Class picture.  They love riding the bus!

Picture with their teachers Miss Lucia and Miss Robyn!

Camryn's First Gymnastics Class

After seeing how much Camryn enjoyed participating a few times in Maddy's gymnastics class we decided to sign her up, she's part monkey so it seemed perfect!

The only class I could find that wasn't right in the middle of a work day was on Saturday mornings at 9am.  Since Cams gets up around 5am everyday (seriously) we figured we could make 9am work!

Camryn LOVED her class!  The teacher commented on how flexible and good she was at all the activities and she had a blast.  It is a parent/child class because of the age but I can't wait until we can get her in a class where they do more than run around in circle with the parents, but still, I'm glad we signed her up and she had a blast.  I had to carry her out of the room when it was over because she wouldn't stop using the equipment!

Hanging out in a box before gymnastics

On our way to gymnastics (she wouldn't wear something that didn't have a tutu attached...)

Patiently waiting for class to start

Maddy had a birthday party to go to Saturday afternoon so I took her to that.  It was a pirate birthday party for a classmate of hers.

While we were at the birthday party Matt and Camryn went to visit Mrs. Beattie (the previous owner of the preschool...she recently sold the school and we miss her so much!!!)

For 90 Mrs. B sure is active!!  One dog wasn't used to little ones so Mrs. B just carried it inside haha...

With all of Callie's recent vet visits we've been taking more pictures of her...poor thing is so sweet and has had so many health issues over her life, who knows how much longer we'll have with her :(  But so far she's doing well...

A pre-work walk

At night, especially when she's not feeling well, she goes and sleeps in Maddy's room with her, it's so cute!

Getting some hugs before her trip to the vet

Most of the time when Matt tries to cuddle with sweet old Cams she tells him "NO, MAMA!!"  but she did give daddy some snuggles this weekend!!

Once the girls went to bed daddy had some fun playing with his legos (really, his legos from when he was a kid)...I guess it's more fun when you don't have to share with your kids haha.

Sunday we had a birthday party at an indoor playground.  It was a super hero birthday party.  Maddy told me she knows she has friends that like super heroes but she just likes princesses.  And therefore Camryn doesn't like super heroes either.

Since Maddy is in one of the oldest classes at preschool her and Camryn don't see each other much during the day.  I think that's helped them become a little more independent.  At the birthday party Maddy was off playing with her friends and Camryn was either running around on her own or playing with Molly.  It was great!

We finished up the weekend playing in the back yard.

I just thought the yard looked so pretty here!

First day of school 2014 and Half Marathon

So the girls first day of the school year was Tuesday, September 9th!  Maddy started in the Tigers class which is for 4 year olds/Pre-K and Camryn started her official preschool year in the Tadpole class which is for the 2 year olds.

They were both excited for their first day but Camryn refused to stand next to Maddy for me to get a picture.  Maddy decided to make Camryn laugh....

In between the chaos of normal day to day life we've been dealing with Callie being sick.  A week ago we had to take her to the vet because she wouldn't eat, was getting sick, and was extremely lethargic.  The Dr. took blood, gave her some meds, and sent us home.  Once home we were able to get her to eat a few pieces of boiled chicken but nothing else.  When the test results came back the dr. called and said we had to bring Callie in immediately, her blood platelet levels were dangerously low.  They did a few more tests and sent us home with some steroids and other medications for her.  Then one morning we couldn't find her and she had slept out in backyard and that's where we found her, shivering and panting and again she was getting sick and wouldn't eat.  We had to rush her in again and they ran more tests and x-rays and decided it was a reaction to the steroids. They can't take her off them completely right now for fear her platelets will drop again, so it's been crazy, and emotionally draining, but for now Callie seems a little more like herself!

I also ran my first half marathon recently!!  Whitney and I did the DC Diva's Half Marathon which was at Tarara Winery in Leesburg and we ran the whole thing!!! 13.1 miles and it was actually fun!!

Us picking up our race packets

The shuttle to the race left at 5am...so we were up bright and early

We finished!!!

When I got home my knees hurt and I had blisters on my feet so Maddy decided she'd make me feel better by using a boa to wrap my foot.

And Camryn found a yoga mat to use as a sleeping bag.

That night we had friends over for a play date and pizza.  It was so much fun and actually worked out so well, I was tired, but had everyone's kids there to entertain mine :)

They had a lot of fun with the Boa I got at my race....not sure what they were doing here haha.

Camryn trying to escape.

Like herding cats.

Camryn and Molly had fun jumping from ottoman to couch.

All the moms and girls

I don't remember when this was but Matt and Cash were supervising the girls riding on the gator and 4 wheeler.

The girls had a blast one night last week playing on the moon bounce after school.

We also rode bikes at the neighbors one night.
