We arrived at Mimi's before the cousins so we hung out and Matt gave me an unexpected gift he had sent to Mimi's for safe keeping...a new iPhone!!! My old phone wasn't taking pictures very easily anymore and it was getting more and more difficult for me to do things (like keep us with this blog...nice excuse right ;) So I got a wonderful surprise! Then the cousins arrived and Cams ran around like a crazy person with the boys.
We were lucky enough to get a picture of all the cousins with Mimi.
Then we started opening gifts.
Camryn was showing me a shirt she got from Uncle Chris, Aunt Sabrina, and her cousins...and in true Camryn form, was covering her face with it haha.
Camryn loved her new Rainbow Brite ornament.
Now there was one very special gift Maddy had asked Santa for. Maddy's friend has an American Girl Doll which she named Molly. Maddy fell in love with Molly a few months ago and has been dreaming of having her own Molly ever since. Molly is the reason Maddy woke up at 3:50am on Christmas. When Santa didn't bring Molly there was some disappointment in Maddy's eyes but we had to remind her that maybe Santa let someone else who loves her very much get her a special gift rather than give it to her himself. I think Maddy was holding out hope, and lucky for her, Mimi got her the most special gift, her beloved Molly!! We had video of this (which didn't end up recording because our camcorder decided not to actually record it) but the moment she opened this package and realized it was her Molly, her expression was just priceless. It was like she was so excited but didn't even know how to act, she almost seemed bashful. It was adorable and such a special moment for her!
Maddy gave Mim and PopPop Jack big hugs after getting Molly. Maddy takes such good care of Molly too. She dresses her every morning and puts pajamas on her every night. Molly has gone everywhere with us since Christmas. Molly has gone to the grocery store, Target, the movies, school, you name it!
Camryn also got a doll. We had gone to the American Girl store and Camryn liked the little blond doll. We asked her what her name was and she just looked at us. Maybe we'll get her to name her one day soon :)
I made a Shutterfly book of the girls year, 2014, for each of the grandparents. Here is Mimi showing off hers.
Camryn loves hanging out with her Aunt Sabrina.
Between the early morning and all the excitement of the day, the girls were out when we hit the road to head back home.
Once we got home we had a tea party with Molly.
We had such an awesome holiday. We are so blessed and Matt and I talk about it a lot...how wonderful our children are and how very lucky we feel to be surrounded by all our family and all the people we love. Our girls are growing up so quickly and while each new phase brings even more joy, and love, and excitement, it also means they are growing up, and that in itself is a little sad. I look at pictures of Maddy especially and she looks so grown up. Camryn still has those baby cheeks and those big eyes, I can still see a little of my baby there, but Maddy, she looks like a little girl, no longer my little toddler!!
